There are different types of ISOSCAN’ers – professional scientists and people of all ages and backgrounds. What unites us is a shared contribution to improving rain, snow and flood forecasts.
Several partners – local businesses and organisations – help us to collect samples by enabling us to distribute and collect ISOSCAN’er. Below, we present our ISOSCAN Citizen Science Partners.
Tromsø Outdoor is a provider of guided activities, equipment rental, store and workshop in the centre of Tromsø, Norway. It is located at Fredrik Langes gate 14, 9008 Tromsø. In 2025, Tromsø Outdoor provided space for distributing and delivering ISOSCAN’er Kits during the testing phase in the project.
Tromsøya Scout Group, founded on November 22, 1918, is an active group in Tromsø affiliated with the Norwegian Scout Association. Based at the Speiderhuset near the city center, the group has around 40 members (2025). Their activities focus on outdoor life, including year‑round trips, camping, skiing, and participation in regional and national camps. Through practical experiences in Arctic nature, the scouts develop teamwork, outdoor skills, environmental awareness, and a strong connection to Northern Norway’s landscapes.
