Dear ISOSCAN'ers,
the results from the 2025 citizen science sampling are in! You can search for your sample in the table using your ISOSCAN'er card, and see how it fit into the bigger picture. The measurements so far indicate that we exclusively got back samples of good quality.
We're also welcoming a new member in the ISOSCAN team in Bergen: Marie Curtet will do her master's thesis in Sustainability over the next year within the ISOSCAN project. Already this summer she joined ISOSCAN'ers as they were collecting water samples in the Norwegian mountains.
In other news, the ISOSCAN project is now half-way. In October, we met in Stockholm to review and report on what we've achieved until now, and to plan the next steps. Our 'founding member' Janne Liburd represented ISOSCAN at the mid-term review in Madrid, and got really good feedback from the Water4All review panel.
Speaking of good feedback: when Cos and Benjamin presented our ISOSCAN sampling kit at the citizen science conference CS4water in Delft, they received the organiser's "Mac Gyver" award for our poster - cool!
Now, our plans for the coming winter season are starting to shape up. We will extend the snow collection in the Tromsø region by setting up sampling hubs in Bergen, Oslo, Uppsala, and Oulu between winter vacations and Easter week.
Keep an eye out for when ISOSCAN sampling kits become available near you, and forward this newsletter to colleagues and friends such that they can subscribe to ISOSCAN updates as well!
